CLOSING NIGHT GALA
Join us to say goodbye to the
11th Spanish Film Festival with
the Australian Premiere of
Spain's biggest Box Office hit
of last year, the elegant and
atmospheric ghost story THE ORPHANAGE preceded by closing
night drinks.
MASQUERADE CLOSING NIGHT - THE ORPHANAGE - Get into the mysterious theme of this very special ghost story by donning a mask and joining us for masqueraded drinks 7.30pm Wed 28 May prior to the remarkable Closing Night Gala film THE ORPHANAGE at 8.30pm. (and your mask doesn't have to be scary !)
The Orphanage delivers chills - both real and supernatural. Set in a crumbling children's home recently reopened by ex-resident Laura (Belén Rueda from The Sea Inside), this Spanish haunted house movie begins its assault after Laura's son Simón (Roger Práncep) vanishes on a sunny afternoon. Convinced Simón's stories about imaginary friends in the spooky building prove he's been spirited away by malevolent ghosts, Laura embarks on a quest to retrieve him that will push her to the limit of sanity. Produced by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) and directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.
