KING OF THE HILL
EL REY DE LA MONTAÑA

Someone or something is shooting unsuspecting drivers from a remote mountaintop.
In this smart wilderness thriller, Gonzalo López- Gallego draws inspiration from such divergent sources as DELIVERANCE and Michael Haneke, crafting an immersive scenario in which his Everyman central character, and the audience alike, must figure out the conditions for staying alive as they go.
Quim (Leonardo Sbaraglia) is on his way to visit his girlfriend, but gets sidetracked by a strange young woman named Bea (María Valverde) who he meets in a petrol station. When he finds his wallet missing, he follows Bea’s car up an unmarked road, where he’s suddenly shot and wounded. As he searches for safe cover, he finds Bea, who has also been shot at. Can she be trusted? What will it take to survive the sniper’s attacks?
Using a small cast and few locations, López-Gallego keeps the tension high throughout the film. Skillfully shot and tightly edited, KING OF THE HILL leaves viewers taut in their seats right up to its surprising conclusion. Hollywood is calling.
