SUSO'S TOWER
LA TORRE DE SUSO

Cundo (Javier Cámara) returns home to Asturias ten years after having left due to the death of his best friend, Suso. He plans to get drunk with his other old friends in Suso's memory, pretend that everything's fine and leave again as fast as he can! But things aren't going so well for him, and his return visit demands more than a simple drinking binge, as his past and things that were left undone catch up with him in the form of ex-girlfriends, ex-lovers, exparents.
But unexpectedly, Cundo discovers that Suso had also left a loose-end dangling - his last great (and secret) dream to build a tower! This revelation leads the well-intending mourner to plan the construction of a memorial tower for his old friend. As all the old gang gradually comes on board, Cundo begins to feel as if Suso engineered the plan to help his old friends out of their current rut.
First-time director Tom Fernández has crafted a warmly charming comedy with excellent performances from his cast, including the ever-engaging Cámara.
The lust Asturian landscape provides the perfect backdrop to this moving story of a community finding a higher perspective.
