CHEF’S SPECIAL is high entertainment, overflowing with the winning ingredients of wit, vivacity and laugh-out-loud comic timing. The always-compelling Cámara (a 2009 Festival guest) leads a terrific cast that also includes Fernando Tejero and Lola Dueñas.

The festival moves and grooves this year! For those who love music films, there will be an abundance of choices: Fados - Carlos Saura’s gorgeous new film about Portuguese music; Septembers – a documentary about an unusual song festival held in prison; Mozart’s Don Giovanni - the controversial 2002 stage production; Old Man Bebo (see Cuban Night) and La Mala (see Closing Night).

From the Spanish Education Office, at the Embassy of Spain, we want to help you find the connection between the enjoyable experience of going to the movies and the Spanish language learning experience.

With this goal in mind we offer you a range of activities to work with the films “Cowards” (2008) and “The hairy tooth fairy 2” (2008). Among them we sincerely hope you can find those which best suit each teaching and learning situation before, during and after the film.
