PLEASE NOTE: telephone and internet sales close at 4pm for weekday festival screenings, and 11am Saturday for weekend screenings. From that point, purchases may only be made in person at cinema venues (cash and credit cards accepted). Palace Academy & Norton Street and the Chauvel do not accept telephone bookings.

OPENING NIGHT SPANISH FIESTA!

6.30pm Wednesday 6 May at Palace Norton Street. Australian Premiere of CHEF’S SPECIAL followed by post-screening fiesta featuring drinks, tapas and live entertainment!

All tickets $45.00 pre-paid, $50.00 on the day

SPECIAL EVENT: CUBAN NIGHT
6.45pm start Wednesday 13 May at Palace Academy Twin Australian Premiere of HORN OF PLENTY followed by post-screening drinks & live entertainment at Verona Bar.
All tickets $20.00

CLOSING NIGHT “LA MALA”
7.45pm for 8pm Sunday 17 May at Palace Academy Twin. The Closing night screening of the delightful new comedy LA MALA will be preceded by a live dance performance, and followed by drinks and a salsateca DJ in the foyer.
All tickets $25.00

Groups of 20+ - $12.50 per ticket*

Multi-film passes are for separate, pre-selected sessions for one person. All films must be chosen in advance to different films at the time of purchase. Passes from the cinema ticketing booths will only be applicable for sessions at that venue (Telephone and internet ticketing can provide passes valid for sessions in both Leichhardt and Paddington).

*Group concession is available to groups of 20+ to a single, pre-nominated session.

Cinemas sell tickets only for their respective venues. There are no booking fees for tickets purchased directly at the cinemas

Tickets may be purchased for both venues through MCA TICKETING. All major credit cards accepted. Call 1300 306 776 between 9.30am-5.30pm weekdays, and 9am-11.00am Saturdays only. Booking fees apply:
1-4 tickets - $2.50 per ticket
5-9 tickets - $2.00 per ticket
10 or more tickets - $1.30 per ticket

Phone bookings for weekday sessions will cease at 1pm on the day of screening Weekend session bookings will cease at 1pm on the Saturday.

FESTIVAL CONDITIONS
All ticket prices are GST inclusive. All Festival films are restricted to persons 18 years of age and over unless specified. This relates not necessarily to the content of the films, but to the legal requirements of holding the Festival, as set by the Office of Film and Literature Classification.
Festival tickets, once acquired, are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced or refunded.
All seating is unreserved. All festival films will commence at the advertised starting time. We anticipate that door sales will be available for most festival sessions, however this cannot be guaranteed. Patrons are urged to purchase their tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment. Palace Cinemas complimentary passes, cinema promotions and free ticket offers are not valid for festival screenings. All non-English language films have English subtitles. Dates, times and programs are correct at the time of publication, but may need to be altered. We reluctantly reserve the right to withdraw, change and replace programs without notice.

Welcome to the 2009 Spanish Film Festival website. From May 6th-17th the Festival celebrates its 12th year by presenting the largest programme of Spanish cinema ever screened in Sydney.

OPENING NIGHT FIESTA
The Festival is delighted to open its 12th edition with the Australian premiere of the terrific new comedy, CHEF'S SPECIAL starring JAVIER CAMARA

Tickets include TAPAS, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT by OJ PROJECT, DRINKS and FILM, plus all attendees will also receive a CD with the best songs from WATUSSI

"OJ Project" - features Oscar Jimenez and other members of Watussi playing a mix of Latin/salsa/funk originals and party favourites.

OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS
Don't miss! Q&A screenings with Festival guest Javier Camara, Tribute to Luis Bunuel (featuring the largest retrospective of his work ever presented Australia!), Cuban Night, Spanish family screening and of course the Closing Night Gala.
