Four's a Crowd
Directed and co-written by Álex de la Iglesia (Perfect Strangers) Four’s a Crowd is a wild romantic comedy and Spanish box office hit.
Julian (Alberto San Juan, also in The Te$t) is a fifty-year-old divorcee with financial problems. To help ease his cashflow issues, he begins carpooling via an app. By sharing his car with strangers, he meets Lorena (Blanca Suárez, Cable Girls, also in The Te$t), a young girl who frequently travels with him from Bilbao to Madrid.
For the past few months, Lorena has had a permanent place in Julian’s car, and more recently, in his heart. Julian is determined to tell her how he feels on the next trip, but an error when choosing the remaining occupants of the car will find him lumbered with a very unsettling fourth passenger, whose presence will bring about a radical change in the course of events.
A comedy of frustration, with acidic dialogue and eclectic characters, you don’t want to miss this wayward tale of romance on the road that takes a dark turn.
