Inspired by both Indiana Jones and Tintin, as well as Disney's Aladdin, David Alonso and Enrique Gato's action-comedy offers plenty of excitement and entertainment.
Coming in at number 5 at Spain’s 2017 box-office, ahead of Pixar’s Coco, Tad and the Secret of King Midas marks the sequel to Spain’s highest-grossing animated feature ever: Tad the Lost Explorer.
Sara Lavrof, the best-known archaeologist in the world, discovers one of the three gold rings from King Midas's necklace (proving that the mythical ruler really did exist). Her friend Tad, an amateur archaeologist, travels to Las Vegas to join her at the grand unveiling. Tad finds their happy reunion turning sour when the villainous Jack Rackham and his crew of bandits steal the ring and kidnap Sara! Whoever puts the three rings from King Midas's necklace back together will inherit his power and immense wealth.
Now Tad will have to be cleverer than ever before in order to save Sara and stop Rackham's wicked plan. He pursues her kidnappers to Spain and the deserts of Turkey with his loyal companions: his dog Jeff, a mute parrot, and an unruly Mummy.
